Black Hat & DEF Security Conferences Go Virtual Due to COVID-19

Recently, the Covid 19 pandemic left the world in a state of great calamity. For example, at the recent Black Hat and DEF CON conferences on security, they decided to move to the virtual level in connection with this pandemic.

Well, Balck Hat and DEF CON Security are among the biggest cyber security events in the world, and they have declared that they will not be present in person all summer, because they will have to deal with almost every situation.

Both conferences were originally planned for the first two weeks of August 2020 in Las Vegas, but will now take place on 1-6 August. August with Black Hat and then from 7 to 9. August with the DEF CON.

This decision was taken in the wake of the deadly global pandemic COVID-19, as everyone struggles to find the best way to serve the information security community as the global health situation continues to deteriorate.

This is why Black Hat stated in its recent statement that they will not meet in person, that all their work will be done virtually, and that they will pursue all their plans to move Black Hat USA to virtual space and perform all their activities virtually in order to serve the community well.

In addition, even DEF CON has stated that they have cancelled the music album, CTF remotely, Hack-a-Sat, communities like Packet Hacking, competitions like TeleChallenge and Ham Exams.

All distance films and drinks have also been cancelled, while the new Mystery Challenge online tournament will be presented at the DEF CON distance events.

Well, according to the instructions, the two cyber security companies said they would spend most of the summer with this deadly global pandemic, COWID-19, because the last few months have been busy enough to cope with all this activity.

As it was quite difficult to stay at home during this isolation and do all the work from home, they decided to go there practically after reading all the instructions from the government.

According to DEF CON, the organisers remain optimistic about the attendance of events in the coming years. But we all hope that these measures will make it possible to tackle this global pandemic in the future. Because we all want everyone to be safe, we opted for a practical approach.
